FAQs

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requires companies to ensure their products are legally produced, do not contribute to deforestation, and are traceable throughout the supply chain. Companies that import or export certain raw materials are required to implement a number of measures and make reporting publicly accessible.

EUDR applies to a wide range of companies within and outside the EU that are involved in the import, export, or sale of products derived from cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber, soy, and wood.

Relevant raw materials and relevant products can only be made available in the EU market or exported if they are deforestation-free, have been produced in accordance with the relevant legislation of the country of production and are covered by a due diligence declaration.

EUDR compliance becomes mandatory for large and medium-sized companies on December 30, 2025. The deadline for micro and small enterprises is June 30, 2026.

Penalties for EUDR non-compliance includes fines, confiscation of products or revenues, and exclusion from EU markets.

SAI360 EUDR compliance reporting software module helps in a number of ways including risk analysis, supply chain mapping and monitoring, managing due diligence documentation, ensuring audit readiness, and training teams on ESG compliance.
