Promoting Inclusivity in the Workplace: Going Beyond Pride Month with Microlearning Training Throughout the Year

Pride Month provides an important opportunity to reflect on the significance of inclusivity in the workplace. Creating an environment where every employee feels respected and valued is a moral imperative, as well as a catalyst for innovation and collaboration. At SAI360, we help companies support inclusivity via our library of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion trainings. This includes two microlearning modules: Sex and Gender Bias and Gender Identity and Expression.

pride monthSex and Gender Bias

Duration: 6 minutes

Description: We all have our own biases, which is why it is important to become aware of what they are and how they might come into play in the workplace. This module helps learners explore sex- and gender-based bias and discrimination.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify when sex and gender biases become sex discrimination.
  • Recognize actions that are likely sex-based discrimination.
  • Recall reporting options for instances of sexual discrimination.

Gender Identity and Expression

Duration: 9 minutes

Description: Every employee has the right to be respected, and every employee is responsible for being respectful to others. This module navigates situations where bias around gender or gender expression may lead to discrimination or harassment in the workplace.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize and use respectful terms for individuals of various genders.
  • Identify when and how to report any known or suspected incidents of workplace sexual harassment based on gender identity/expression.
  • Recall company policies and the law when responding to employee conduct.

Embracing Inclusivity

By integrating these modules into our training programs, we aim to equip workforces with the knowledge and tools to foster more inclusive and respectful workplaces. Understanding and addressing biases related to sex, gender, and gender identity is crucial for creating an environment where all employees can thrive. This Pride Month, and every month, let’s use this time to reflect on our commitment to inclusivity and take meaningful steps to ensure our workplaces reflect these values.
